Mr. Spano loved people, dogs and cars – in that order. He loved his German Shepherd dogs best, and was an avid F-body car and racing enthusiast that included car shows and racing. He dearly loved his brother and his family, and his inherited children and grandchildren. He also especially loved his dog, his beloved baby Neasa. His heart was bigger than anything – loving, caring, supportive, and attentive. You could never miss his large presence with his infectious laugh and smile. He always said he lived in Virginia, but was Brooklyn born with Sicilian blood in his veins. He enjoyed working tirelessly on his car with friend – always a new modification! His stories of his childhood, New York, his travels and just ones in general were enjoyed by everyone. His presence was always felt and will be deeply missed by all. RIP my love till we are joined again.
Survivors include his wife, Deborah; his brother, Matthew Spano II and wife Carol; his step-children, Jed Crowl and wife Valerie, and Josh Crowl and wife Jennifer; seven grandchildren; his niece, Jillian Gerado and husband James; and nephew, Matthew Spano III and wife Kristin.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Matthew and Rose Spano.
