

Barbara L. (Long) Watt, age 85, of Fairhaven died peacefully on Saturday, February 21, 2015 at The Royal in Fairhaven. Barbara was born in Fairhaven to the late Gilbert E. and Beatrice M. (Ramsden) Long, and had been a lifelong resident of the town.
She graduated from Fairhaven High School in 1946 and from Katherine Gibbs Secretarial School in Providence in 1948. She worked for over 30 years as a Clerk and Bookkeeper at the former Guy’s Pharmacy and then was a Clerk at Phoenix Pharmacy for a few years before retiring in 1992.
Barbara was a member of the First Congregational Church in Fairhaven. She enjoyed spending time with her family and doing crosswords to keep her mind sharp. Her family would like to extend a special thank you to Isabel and the staff of The Royal for lovingly taking care of their mom.
She leaves 4 sons: John G. Watt and his wife Marilyn of Virginia Beach, VA, William E. Watt, David R. Watt and his wife Debbie, and Robert J. Watt and his wife Kristine all of Fairhaven; 7 grandchildren: Daniel J. Watt, Sarah E. Arruda, Alexander R., Lindsay E., James R., Richard and Thomas Watt; 2 great-grandsons: Jonathan Watt and Oliver Arruda. She was also the grandmother of the late John Brady Waldle.
Her Funeral Service will be held Wednesday, February 25, 2015 at 10:00 am in the WARING-SULLIVAN HOME OF MEMORIAL TRIBUTE AT FAIRLAWN, 180 Washington St., Fairhaven, MA with burial in Riverside Cemetery. Visiting hours will be held Tuesday from 4 to 7 pm. Relatives and friends invited. In lieu of flowers, Barbara asked that you make a donation to a charity of your choice.
