

Born in New Bedford, a son of the late Joseph and Anna (Cournoyer) Brunelle, he was a longtime resident of Fairhaven before moving to New Bedford.
Henry was a United States Navy veteran having served during World War II. He was a US Navy Seabees and served in the Civilian Conservation Corps. He was the recipient of the World War II Victory Medal, Asiatic-Pacific Ribbon with 1 Star and the American Theatre Ribbon.
He retired in 1979 from Teledyne Rodney Metals and also worked for the Fairhaven Park Dept.
Mr. Brunelle was a member of the Unitarian Memorial Church, American Legion Post #166, Fairhaven VFW Post #2892, Fairhaven Grange #363, Sippican Pomona #31, Massachusetts State Grange and a C.B. member- Charlie Popper Club #59. In 1983 and 1984, Henry and Eleanor were chosen Mr. & Mrs. Massachusetts State Grange. Henry was also known as the metal man.
Survivors include a daughter, Patricia A. Majka of New Bedford; step-daughter, Tena M. Genthner of Plantation, FL; a step-son, Jeffrey R. Pease of N. Las Vegas, NV; three granddaughters; four grandsons; two great-grandsons and the late Nicholas Fernandes; six great granddaughters; five nephews. He was the father of the late Paul W. Brunelle. He leaves his beloved cat, Andy.
His Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday, May 6, 2015 at 10am in the WARING-SULLIVAN HOME OF MEMORIAL TRIBUTE AT FAIRLAWN, 180 Washington St., Fairhaven. Visiting hours Tuesday 4-7pm. Burial in Naskatucket Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory may be made to the American Cancer Society, 30 Speen St., Framingham, MA 01701.
