

Jeannette (Richard) Lapointe passed away peacefully on January 8, 2011 at the age of 78 at the Madonna Manor Nursing Home in North Attleboro, Massachusetts after a long illness. She is survived by her devoted husband of 58 years, Raymond E. Lapointe, sister Blanche Burns of Enfield, Connecticut, daughters Lydia Kotak of North Attleboro, Lauretta Valenti of Mansfield, Jacqueline Stanhope of Attleboro and sons Richard of Yarmouth, Ulysse of New Bedford, Jean of New Bedford and Robert of Mattapoisett. She also leaves behind twelve grandchildren and five great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
Living almost her entire life in New Bedford, Mrs. Lapointe was responsible for the health and well being of her seven children while attending to the day to day duties of homemaking. She and her family later relocated to Mattapoisett with her husband and the children still living at home.
Later in life she was able to enjoy the peace and tranquility of the seashore in Mattapoisett with her grandchildren and traveled frequently to visit her children that had relocated throughout the country. She excelled at everything involved in responsible homemaking as well as gardening and painting.
Her Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, January 13, 2011 at 9am from the WARING-SULLIVAN HOME OF MEMORIAL TRIBUTE AT FAIRLAWN 180 Washington St., Fairhaven followed by her funeral mass at 10am in St. Anthony’s Church 22 Barstow St., Mattapoisett. Visiting hours Wednesday 4 to 8pm. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions in her honor may be made to Madonna Manor Activities Fund 85 N. Washington St., North Attleboro, MA 02760.
