

Born in New Bedford, a daughter of the late William A. and Lorenza (Patnaude) Trudeau, she lived in Fairhaven most of her life. A woman of great faith, she was a communicant of Sacred Hearts in Fairhaven, a member of the First Congregational Church in Rochester, and presently a Communicant of St. Lawrence, Martyr in New Bedford. She participated in many activities in all these churches, and sang in their choirs.
Leola's life was shaped by the gospel message of Jesus to serve. This she did throughout her life in the loving care she showered as a homemaker on her family and her many foster children, and in her motto that there was always room for one more. Leola had a passion for prayer, reading, and music. She had a generous spirit and a warmth which radiated in the many poems she wrote about her family and her life.
She is survived by 1 son: Frank J. Davis of Florida; 7 daughters: Judith F. Stoltenberg of Roches¬ter, Teresa J. Ouellette of New Bedford, Susan P. Bouley of Dartmouth, Marilyn A. Melanson of Rochester, Gloria J. DeSousa of Fairhaven, Dorice L. Puscizna of Swansea, and Betty E. Santos of New Bedford; four brothers: Maurice, William , Roger, and Richard Trudeau; one sister: Dolores Trudeau; 17 grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
Her Funeral Mass will be held Monday July 23, 2012 at 10 AM at St. Lawrence, Martyr Church, 565 County St. New Bedford. Visiting hours are Sunday, from 3-5PM with a prayer and music service from 5-6PM at the WARING-SULLIVAN HOME OF MEMORIAL TRIBUTE AT FAIR¬LAWN, 180 Washington St. Fairhaven.
