Mary Dolores Brackins

She was born on June 16, 1958, as the eldest daughter of the late Gorge Ritchie and Mary (Devlin) Ritchie in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, growing up there and in Maple Shade, New Jersey. Mary and Gary were preparing to move back to Gary’s home state of Florida.

“Winkie”, as she was affectionately called by family, earned her bachelor’s degree in nursing and served in the United States Air Force. She spent a collective 23 years working as a manager for Burger King, most recently in Fairhaven. In her spare time, she loved gardening and spending time with family.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by her mother, Mary Ritchie, of Seminole, Florida; her daughter, Monique Harps, of Norfolk, Virginia; her son, Byron “BJ” Harps II, of Shreveport, Louisiana; step-children, Bradley (Sadie) Brackins, of Lakewood, Colorado, and Arin (Ruben Cruz) Brackins of Merced, California; sisters, Denise DeWitt, of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, and Carol (Chris) Marshall, of Hampton, New Hampshire; brother, Christopher Ritchie, of Denton, Texas; grandchildren, Jasmyn Harps and Janelle Harps, of Austin, Texas; step-grandchildren, Alexis Brackins, Faith Brackins, Bradley "Buddy" Brackins, Jr., Aria Torgerson, and Mayra Torgerson; nieces, Olivia Marshall and Christina Sonsini; nephews, Andrew Marshall and Walter DeWitt IV; sister-in-law, Catherine (Glenn) Smith; and her beloved dogs, Bonnie and Clyde.

Mary will always be remembered and deeply missed by everyone that lost her. Her love and light will continue to shine through all of us.
