

Piedade C. Cunha, 64, of Fairhaven, passed away Saturday, December 25, 2021 at Brigham and Women’s Hospital following a long courageous battle with cancer. She was the loving wife of Eduardo Cunha with whom she shared 40 years of marriage.
Born in Casteloes, Calvao, Chaves, Portugal, a daughter of the late Lourenco and Albertina (Madureira) Castelo, she came to the United States in 1966 and settled in Fairhaven.
Mrs. Cunha had a successful career as a talented hairdresser for over 35 years. She also worked as a stitcher at Calvin Clothing.
Piedade loved going for rides, listening to music and enjoyed dancing. Most of all, she loved spending time with her loving family and friends.
Surviving in addition to her husband is her son, Neil E. Cunha; her siblings, Rosa Simoes, Jose Castelo, Alda Morais, Manuel Castelo, Maria Pereira, Antonio Castelo, Hipolita Cabeleira, Joaquim and Idalina Castelo; her mother-in-law, Lidia Cunha; her brother-in-law, Antonio Cunha; her sister-in-law, Gabriela Cunha; and many nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews. She was predeceased by her father-in-law, Fernando Cunha and her brother-in-law, Rogerio Cunha.
Her Funeral will be held on Monday, January 3, 2022 at 9am from the Waring-Sullivan Home at Fairlawn, 180 Washington St., Fairhaven followed by a Funeral Mass at 10am in St. Mary’s Church, Main St., Fairhaven. Burial in Riverside Cemetery. Visiting hours Sunday 3-6pm.
