

Wesley A. Magoon Jr., age 74, passed away on March 5, 2026. Born on May 1, 1951, in Newport, RI, Wes was the son of the late Wesley A. Magoon Sr. and Doris May (Chandler) Magoon. He was raised in New Bedford, graduated from New Bedford High School, and lived in Dartmouth for the past 41 years.
Wes retired as a machine mechanic from Titleist. Earlier in his career, he worked for Westport Environmental Services and Hoyt Corporation.
Wes is survived by his daughter, Sherry Magoon; his son, Chad Magoon and wife Alison; and his longtime partner, Linda Sumner, along with her children Chris and Janice, Brian and Tarley, and Craig and Sarah. He is also survived by his brother, Gary Magoon and wife Deborah; his sister, Sharon Frias and husband John; and his grandchildren, Mason, Avery, Evan, Autumn, Ashley, Kirsten, Brad, Lindsay, and Carter. He also leaves several nieces and nephews.
Wes enjoyed traveling with Linda to Fort Myers and Cape Cod, spending time on the water and at the beach. He loved music, and he enjoyed a cold beer—simple pleasures that brought him genuine contentment and often brought others together around him.
Visiting hours will be held at Waring-Sullivan Home at Fairlawn, 180 Washington Street, Fairhaven, on Monday, March 9, 2026, from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm. His funeral will be held on Tuesday, March 10, 2026 at 9:30 am from the funeral home followed by a graveside service at 11:00 am at Rural Cemetery, New Bedford.
