Nancy was an educator serving with the Peace Corps in Sierra Leone, West Africa and on the Navajo Reservation. She was a graduate of BGSU and Northern Arizona University. She enjoyed teaching, camping and traveling with family, spending time with friends, needlepoint, knitting, and her dog Dayzee Jo.

She leaves behind to cherish her memory her brother Raymond (Patricia) Shelker, Jr., nieces, nephews, and great-nieces and great-nephews.
