

Agnes was a professional verbatim reporter and operated a reporting business in St. Louis, until 1951. After giving her children a start in life, she became an official court reporter for the Illinois 20th Judicial Circuit Court; in 1974, retiring in 1985 as Supervising Court Reporter.
Active in several organizations, she served as Presidents for Chapter EY P.E.O., the Thursday Literary Club, and the Consistory of Hope United Church of Christ. She also served as Deacon for the Collinsville United Presbyterian Church.
She was preceded in death by her parents, George C. and Mary Ellen, nee Rodd, Clausen; and her loving husband of 62 years, John S. Hackmann.
Surviving are her children, Deborah (John) Hackmann-Truhan, of Peoria, Illinois, John (Eda) Hackmann, of Fairview Heights, Illinois, Janet (Thomas Holtzclaw) Hackmann, of St. Louis, Missouri, and Mary Ellen (Ashish) Pradhan, of Atlanta, Georgia; her grandchildren, Valerie, Matthew, Elizabeth, Rebekah, John (Jamie), Amy, Mark, Stephen, Peter, Bethany (Richard), Benjamin, Nathan, Andrea, Sarah, Janelle, Alice, Jennifer, and Alex; 10 great grandchildren; and her two sisters, Rosemary McJury, of Alexandria, Virginia and Joyce McCombs, of Godfrey, Illinois.
