

Asha Francesca Winchester (Herring), 55, of Shiloh IL, passed away peacefully on Sunday, October 19, 2025 at St. Elizabeth's Hospital in O'Fallon IL. There will be a service with entombment at Lake View Funeral Home and Memorial Gardens.
Asha was born an orphan January 14, 1970 in Bombay, India and raised by the Nuns at Bombay's St. Anthony's Home. In 1984, she was granted permission to leave the orphanage to be placed with a U.S. foster family in Washington State.
Asha graduated from Shadle Park High School in Spokane, Washington. She worked at the Spokane YMCA daycare until meeting her future soulmate Douglas Winchester and marrying April 8, 1989 at the Fairchild AFB Chapel. Asha became an U.S.A.F. spouse and backed her husband's career. Asha proudly wore the titles of Wife and Mom. Her son Justin Winchester was her pride and joy.
Asha was an avid designer enjoying fashioning various creative beaded jewelry. She was a skilled crocheter. Reading medical mystery books was also a favorite pastime. Asha most loved spending time with family following their activities.
As a Christian, acceptor of Christ, all is well with Asha's soul.
Asha was preceded in death by her first son in 1991, Colton Winchester.
The family is grateful to the ICU staff at St. Elizabeth's Hospital for providing their special care for Asha as she transitioned to heaven.
