Barbara Edna Bowman

Barbara was married to the “love of her life”, David Bowman for 57 years.

Barbara was the “Christmas Queen”, cherishing ornaments over 100 years old. She participated in several holiday contests, including being a “Gingerbread” contestant, proudly taking home many ribbons. She enjoyed all holidays along with its festivities, sharing great times with her family and friends.

Barbara was an avid history buff who read and researched the past. She was especially fascinated with the “1904 World’s Fair”!

Barbara loved to travel, enjoying fourteen cruises, and camping and fishing at “lake lots” in Valmeyer, Illinois.

Loving memories are cherished by: her son, Brian (Gretchen) Bowman; daughter, Debra Bowman; grandson, Blake Bowman; sisters, Carol (Don) Brown and Dorothy (Lane) Gilbert; and aunt, Patricia Marschhoff.

A visitation for Barbara will be held on Thursday, October 31, 2024, from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Lake View Funeral Home, 5000 North Illinois Street, Fairview Heights, IL 62208.

The funeral service will be held on Thursday, October 31, 2024, beginning at noon, followed by the committal at 5000 North Illinois Street, Fairview Heights, IL 62208.
