Barbara Ann Schuchman

Barbara was born November 23, 1946 in Granite City, IL to Edwin Adolf and Carol Jean (Schroeder) Schmidt.

She married Raymond “J.R.” Schuchman Jr., on September 20, 1969 in Belleville, IL. He survives and resides in Fairview Heights, IL. Also surviving are her sister, Deborah Jean (Grant) Youngs of Waterloo, IL; and her nieces, nephews and extended family members.

Barbara was the Director of Disaster Recovery Planning and Micrographic Services for 31 devoted years. She was featured twice in Micrographics in an international magazine and was the guest speaker at two different conferences. She loved her work, but above all else, she loved her family, especially her husband, J.R. She will be remembered as someone who was a great listener and always put others before herself. She will truly be missed by all who knew and loved her.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to St. Paul United Church of Christ.

A visitation for Barbara will be held on Wednesday, January 24, 2024 from 10:00 A.M.- 11:00 A.M. at Lake View Funeral Home, Fairview Heights, IL. A funeral service will follow at 11:00 A.M. Final interment will be held at Lake View Memorial Gardens, Fairview Heights, IL.
