

Bruce was a devoted husband to his wife, Debbie, who was still his best friend. He leaves behind a brother and sister-in-law, Kenny and Jacke Perkins; a son and daughter-in-law, Brett & Kristin Perkins, and two grandchildren, Grayson and Presley Perkins.
Bruce graduated from Malden High School, then went on to Southeast Missouri State and Southern Illinois University where he graduated with progressively advancing degrees in Education. He dedicated 30 plus years to service in Secondary Education. Spending the last 20 years as an assistant principal at Belleville East High School in Belleville, IL. His unwavering commitment to education, combined with his passion for guiding and inspiring young minds, made him a cherished member of the school community.
His personal passion was around motorsports and local sports teams. He was an avid fan of NASCAR, the Missouri Tigers as well as his beloved St Louis Cardinals. Any opportunity, he was joining friends and family in the stands to witness some of St Louis most historic events.
A visitation to honor and celebrate Bruce Perkin's life will be held on Saturday, May 27, 2023 from 2:00pm to 4:00pm in Lake View Funeral Home, 5000 N. Illinois St., Fairview Heights, IL 62208. Memorial service will follow on Saturday, May 27, 2023 at 4:00pm in Lake View Funeral Home with Rev. Mike Wooton officiating. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests memorial contributions to The Rotary Club of Swansea - Chad Wood Memorial Scholarship Fund in Bruce's name to continue his legacy of supporting education and helping others.
Bruce's memory will be cherished and celebrated, as we remember the joy, love, and wisdom he brought into our lives. May his soul rest in eternal peace.
