Born on August 24, 1953, to the late Allen Craig and Mary Virginia (nee Penny) Solomon.
David was a true gentleman whose passions and talents touched many. A lifelong fan of Cardinals baseball, he loved following the team and sharing in the excitement of the game. Creative and thoughtful, he was both an author and playwright, pouring his heart into stories, plays, literature, and music that reflected his love for the written and spoken word.
His Christian faith was the foundation of his life. He was a dedicated member of Garden City Church (formerly Faith Family Church). Known for his generous nature, he never hesitated to lend a hand or share a kind word. He expressed gratitude freely and prayed often for others, leaving a lasting impression on all who knew him.
David also enjoyed life’s simple pleasures — sharing meals at Golden Corral, savoring Golden Oak pancakes, and spending time in fellowship with family and friends. His legacy of generosity, creativity, and unwavering faith will continue to inspire those who loved him.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his sister and her husband: Penny Louise and Charles Marvin Closser.
He is survived by three nieces: Penny M. Closser of St. Louis, MO, Bobbi Closser of St. Louis, MO, and Mary (Doug) Carlson of St. Louis, MO; a nephew, Charles “Charlie” Allen Closser of St. Louis; two great-nephews: Charles “Charlie” Terry and Joseph “Joey” Allen; and his dear friends: Ron, Dale, Bob, Scott, Mark, Craig, Rick, and a host of other dear friends who enriched his life.
