

His husband Tab Hunt and he had shared nearly 35 years together. Tab still resides in Swansea, IL.
Also surviving is his daughter, Alexandrea (Michael) Riebold of O’Fallon, IL; grandsons, Tristan and Gavin; his brother, Louie (Deb) Wisdom of St. Louis, MO; sister-in-law, Teresa (Patrick) Franklin of Newburgh, IN; nieces and nephews, Wren (Zak) Riley-Grimes of Evansville, IN, Shaun Riley of Marion, KY, Jennifer (Marty) Graham of Granite City, IL, Elizabeth (Kyle) Wisdom of Chicago, IL, Robert (Lisa) Wisdom of Florissant, MO, Charles Wisdom of St. Louis, MO, Michael (Dia)Wisdom of Sebastian, Florida and Dan Wisdom Jr. (Tosca) of St Louis, MO; any many great-nieces and great-nephews.
Joe was preceded in death by his mother, Vera Vita (Russo) Wisdom and two brothers, Daniel Wisdom and Phillip Wisdom.
Joe proudly served his country in the United States Air Force for 30 years. He retired as a highly decorated Chief Master Sergeant. His career path was widespread and included being a military training instructor, a recruiter assistant, and finance Airman which eventually led him to become lead accountant. After active-duty retirement he went back into the civilian service side of the military, serving an additional 15 years.
He has a Masters Degree in Accounting from Webster University, St Louis, MO. He is active in the local Democratic party serving as a voting judge and then being elected to Committeeman District 28 St. Clair County.
While away from work, he enjoys being outdoors, tending to his beautiful lawn and caring for his home. Joe never had an idle moment. He loves his family dearly, especially his two grandsons. He will truly be missed by all who knew and loved him.
Joe and Tab love animals and have rescued five dogs. Joe leaves behind his two beloved dogs, Measles and Bree.

A visitation for Joe will be held on Saturday, 24 February, 2024 from 10:00 A.M.- 12:00 P.M. at Lake View Funeral Home, Fairview Heights, IL.
A funeral service will be held immediately following the visitation, at 12:00 P.M. at the funeral home, where full military honors will be rendered.
Cremation rites have been accorded under the direction of Lake View Funeral Home.
