Daniel Vernon McVey

Daniel was of Christian faith. He was a loving dad, grandpa, and brother who will truly be missed by all who knew and loved him.

He was preceded in death by his loving wife of 52 years; Joyce McVey; his parents, Earl V. McVey and Idella Shanahan Phillips; paternal grandparents, Vernon and Florence McVey; maternal grandparents, Joseph and Hazel Shanahan; step mother, Ione H. McVey; one brother; Gary P. Mcvey; two sister-in-laws, Donna J. McDonald, and Myrtle Collins; two brother-in-laws, Charles R. McKenzie and Lee Schafer; three nephews, Timothy A. Collins, Steven Green, and Brian Green.

Surviving him are his loving sons; Michael (Nancy) McVey, of Swansea, Illinois, and Patrick McVey, of Wood River, Illinois; grandchildren, Daniel Owen McVey, Ryan Michael McVey, and Erin Elizabeth McVey; sisters, Linda L. Green, Kathleen I. (David) Burnette, and Roque Schafer; brothers, David McVey and Fred (Kelly) Phillips, and many dear cousins, nieces, nephews, and special friends.

Memorial Visitation: Friends may call from 4 to 7 p.m Thursday, November 17, 2016 at Lake View Funeral Home, Fairview Heights, Illlinois. A prayer service will begin promptly at 4:00pm.
