David Lee Jacobs

Dave graduated from Belleville Township East High School in 1973 and he was a member of the Shiloh Eagles 545. Dave enjoyed photography and riding his Harley. He was a retired welder and also worked as a photographer for the Fairview Heights Fire Department for 10+ years. Dave was one of the most likeable people you’d ever meet; he made friends with everyone who crossed his path. He will be dearly missed and fondly remembered by all who knew him.

Dave was preceded in death by his parents, Frank Joseph Jacobs and Betty Lou (nee Walker) Jacobs, and his beloved wife, Dolores “Dodi” Maria (nee Champ) Jacobs.

Surviving to cherish his memory are his daughter, April (Jeremy) Hannes; stepchildren, Ryan (Catherine) Rusteberg, Jessica Rusteberg, and Emily Rusteberg; grandchildren, Tyler Hannes, Kaitlyn Hannes, and Payton Hannes; step-grandchildren, Carter Johnson, Elliana “Elli” Wade, Elias “Eli” Wade, Savannah Rusteberg, and Denver Rusteberg, sister, Donna (nee Jacobs) Walker; brother-in-law, Doyle Walker; nieces, Jennifer Walker and Kristen (Danny) Rutzinski; nephew, Daniel Walker; plus countless friends and extended family.

Memorial donations may be made directly to the American Heart Association.

Dave and Dodi’s remains will be inurned together at Lake View Memorial Gardens, Fairview Heights, IL, in a private service. A Celebration of Life will be on Saturday, July 15, 2023 from 1:00 P.M.- 3:00 P.M. at the Shiloh Eagles Aerie 545, 100 Eagle Drive, Shiloh IL.
