David Merideth Niccum

David M. Niccum, 77, of O’Fallon, passed away Sunday, April 2, 2023 surrounded by his family. He was born April 1, 1946 in Essex, England to James M. and Edna (Payne) Niccum. David was a proud veteran of the United States Air Force. He married Deanna Dill August 23, 1991 in Belleville, IL. David was honored to work at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery for many years as an Escort. He loved the Lord and enjoyed reading his Bible. He was a member of the O’Fallon Library Book Club, the National Federations of Pachyderm Club and the VFW. In his spare time, David enjoyed watching football, playing golf, bowling and keeping an eye on the stock market and Volksmarching. He was a dedicated father and grandfather, volunteering his extra time to be involved in their activities. David will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him.

Survivors left to cherish his memory include his wife, Deanna Niccum; sons, James Niccum, Matthew (Carena) Dill, Shawn (Donnie) Dill; grandchildren, Tristen, Aubry, Bryson, Blake, April Rain, Odin and Milo; sister, Faye (Mark) Chadwick; mother-in-law, Marcella Prest; sister-in-law, Marla Cooper; brother-in-laws, Clinton (Jennifer) Prest and Kevin (Michelle) Prest and numerous nieces and nephews. David is preceded in death by his parents and brother, Bruce Niccum.

A celebration of David's life will be held on Thursday, April 6, 2023 from 4:00pm to 7:00pm in Lake View Funeral Home, 5000 N. Illinois St., Fairview Heights, IL 62208. A graveside service will be held Friday, April 7, 2023 at 11:00am in Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery, 2900 Sheridan Rd, St. Louis, MO 63125.
