Elizabeth Erin Papagno

Elizabeth was born November 9, 1977 in St. Louis, MO to Michael Scaggs and Linda (Claus) Johnson.

She married Robert Marcus Papagno and he preceded her in death on October 20, 2020.

She was also preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, Allan and Mae Claus; paternal grandparents, Elmer and Edith Scaggs; and father-in-law, Frank Papagno.

Elizabeth is survived by her beloved children, Michael “Mickey” and Zeva; step-son, Jessie Papagno of Swansea, IL; her parents, Michael R. (Bonnie) Scaggs of Troy, IL and Linda (Denny) Johnson of Collinsville, IL; mother-in-law, Marianne Papagno of Sunrise, FL; siblings, Ryan (Allison) Scaggs of Bryson City, NC and Kathleen (Jake) Zoller of Kingman, AZ; step-siblings, Angie (Monte) Simpson of Plainview, IL, Bridget Ogan of Collinsville, IL, Carmon (Mike) Burdick of Sachse, TX; Dena Simmons of Belleville, IL, Derek (Amie) Johnson of Troy, IL and Denise (Lonnie) Smith of Maryville, IL; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Jon and Julie Papagno of Sunrise, FL; and many nieces and nephews.

Elizabeth spent her life working in the aviation field, and most recently worked for Gulf Stream Aerospace in Georgia. She was a member of Mensa International and loved to go scuba diving. Elizabeth will be remembered fondly for her intelligence, kindness and her sense of adventure throughout her life. Above all else, she loved her children and her family dearly. She will truly be missed by all who knew and loved her.

Memorial donations may be made to an education fund for her children or to Bethel Baptist Church of Troy, IL.

VISITATION: A visitation for Elizabeth will be held on Sunday, April 3, 2022 from 4:00 P.M.- 7:00 P.M. at Lake View Funeral Home, Fairview Heights, IL.

FUNERAL: A funeral service will be held Monday, April 4, 2022 at 10:00 A.M. at Bethel Baptist Church of Troy, IL with Pastor Tim Lewis officiating. Interment will follow at Holy Cross Lutheran Cemetery in Collinsville, IL.
