Eugene William Reinacher

Eugene William Reinacher, 95, of Sparta, passed away peacefully October 17, 2022 surrounded by his family. He was born July 20, 1927 in Highland, IL to Robert and Esther (Clayton) Reinacher. Eugene was a veteran of the United States Navy. He married Geraldine Reay September 8, 1946. Eugene loved his family and spending time with them. He will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him.

Survivors include his children, Vincent (Pamela) Reinacher of Oakdale, IL and Donna (Mickey) Martin of Sparta, IL; grandchildren, Christopher (Brooke Hefner) Reinacher of Waterloo, IL, Dawn Reinacher of Waterloo, IL, Joshua (Karyn) Jones of Evansville, IL, Christopher (Kristen) Martin of Sparta, IL and Taylor (Austin Guetterman) of Waterloo, IL; step-grandchildren, Brad (Bethany) Creech of Steeleville, IL, Robert (Leighann) Bradford of Granite City, IL and Rebecca (John) Erskine of Freeport, NY; 13 great-grandchildren and 3 great-grandsons; many nieces, nephews, cousins and other extended family. He was preceded in death by his parents; loving wife of 60 years, Geraldine Reinacher; brother, Leland Reinacher and sister, Roberta (Reinacher) Wilbur.

Funeral service will be held on Monday, October 24, 2022 at 1:00pm in Lake View Funeral Home, 5000 N. Illinois St., Fairview Heights, IL 62208 with Pastor Michael Foppe officiating. Visitation will be held from 11:00am until time of service in the funeral home. Interment in Lake View Memorial Gardens. Memorial contributions can be made to Maple Creek Hospice of Sparta.
