Evelyn Jane Cornett

Evelyn Jane Cornett, 74, of Alton, passed away Wednesday, January 5, 2022. She was born on February 9, 1947 in Wyatt, Missouri to Robert Bryan and Virginia (Gibson) Cole. Evelyn married Larry Cornett December, 18, 1964 in Granite City, Illinois. She was a member of Bethesda Baptist Church in Granite City where she enjoyed teaching Sunday School. She had a passion for sewing and especially loved spending time with her family. She will be greatly missed!

Survivors include her husband, Larry Cornett; children, Larry (Christine) Cornett, Robert (Allison) Cornett, Jennifer (Scott) Ivie and Donna Cole; grandchildren, Larry Bryan (Amy) Cornett, Matt (Theresa) Miller, Alex (Kari) Cornett, Whitney (Donnie) Dickerson, Samantha Cornett, Max Ivie, Macy Ivie, Kandis Heather Buckingham and Amanda and Randall Hall; great-grandchildren, Elliot Cornett, Jake Barton, Margo Jane Cornett, Hunter Dickerson, Tanner Dickerson, Fletcher Dickerson, Remi Dickerson and Takoda Wellmaker; sister, Sue Krug and numerous nieces, nephews and other extended family. Predeceased by her parents and brother, Robert Wayne Cole.

Funeral service will be held on Wednesday, January 12, 2022 at 12:00 p.m. in Lake View Funeral Home, 5000 N. Illinois St., Fairview Heights, Illinois 62208 with Pastor David P. Denton officiating. Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. until time of service. Memorial contributions can be made to Bethesda Baptist Church, 3035 Nameoki Dr., Granite City, Illinois 62040.
