Helen L. Wetzel

Helen was a member of the former Hope Church in Belleville, Illinois. She enjoyed collecting and shopping for antiques. Her favorite pastime was playing golf with her late husband, Roger. She was proud to have gotten a hole-in-one at Tamarack golf course in Shiloh, Illinois. Roger and her also enjoyed traveling and were "Snow Birds", spending their winters in Bonita Springs, Florida. She was an avid dog lover, who adored miniature poodles. She was a loving mother, grandmother, and great grandmother, who will truly be missed by all who knew her.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Roger E. Wetzel; her parents, Dock and Lillian, nee Holifield, Thompson; and her siblings, Joyce Warchol, Sonny Buck Thompson, in infancy, Tony Thompson, and Mary Lou Reeves.

Surviving to cherish her memory are her children, Sharron (Ralph) Lamely, of Fort Myers, Florida, Ronald (Martha) Wetzel, of Waterloo, Illinois, Randy (Susan) Wetzel, of Godfrey, Illinois, and Robert Wetzel, of Dallas, Texas; her grandchildren, Shane Lamely, Derek (Lindsay) Lamely, Heather (David) Minnick, Kelly Weirich, Ryan (Lauren) Wetzel, Rachel Wetzel, and Mason Wetzel; great grandchildren, Peyton, Cameron, Zoey, Landon, Cameron, and Jack; and many other relatives and friends.

Visitation: Friends may call from 4 to 7 p.m., Sunday, January 28, 2018 at Lake View Funeral Home, Fairview Heights, Illinois.

Services: Services will be held at 11 a.m., Monday, January 29, 2018 at the funeral home with Rev. Charles West officiating. Interment will follow in Lake View Memorial Gardens, Fairview Heights, Illinois.
