

James “Jim” Hurd Hines, 82, of Caseyville, Ill., died Monday August 8, 2011 at the St. Paul’s Home in Belleville, Ill. Mr. Hines was born June 15, 1929 in Verda, Louisiana and graduated from Verda High School.
He served in the Unites States Air Force and retired from Union Electric, now known as Ameren. He enjoyed gardening and taking care of his yard. He was a caring father and grandfather and he especially looked forward to being at the family camp, The Panhandle
.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Larkin C. and Ruby, nee Abercrombie, Hines; five brothers Hardy, Henry, L.C., Brian, and Ray Hines; and three sisters, Evie Johnette, Vera Lowe, and Leona Deville.
Jim is survived by his wife of 58 years, Elva Lee, nee Clemmons, Hines; three daughters, Cathy (Bruce) Malear; Jeanne (Mark) Gullion; and Susan (Jerry) Wobbe; six grandchildren, Amy (Jon) Schultz, Jamie (Chris) Hobbick, David Malear, Melissa Gullion, Larkin Wobbe, and Tyler Wobbe; one step-grandson, Christopher (Jennifer) Gullion; seven great-grandchildren; Aiden, Luke, and Kalib Schultz, Chase, Corbin, and Josie Hobbick, and Christian Robinson; one sister Ruth Rabalais of Marksville, LA, and numerous nieces, nephews, and friends.

Funeral: Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Thursday, August11, 2011 at Lake View Funeral Home with Pastor Tony Minear officiating. Interment will be in Lake View Memorial Gardens, Fairview Heights, Ill.
