James "J.W." W. Waldron

James W. “J.W.” Waldron, 91, of Caseyville, Illinois, born January 26, 1921 in La Vergne, Tennessee, as one of sixteen children, died Monday, December 31, 2012 at Memorial Care Center in Belleville, Illinois.

Mr. Waldron proudly served his country in the U.S. Army during WW II. He was a member of VFW Post 1117. Most of his working life was in the aircraft industry at Lockheed in Atlanta Georgia, Hayes Aircraft in Birmingham, Alabama, and McDonnell Douglas in St. Louis, Missouri, from which he retired after 25 years. James was a 50 year member of the IAM Machinist Union.

James was an avid reader of the Bible, and a lifetime member of the Collinsville Church of Christ. He enjoyed reading history books. His creative talents were found in his garage workshop of woodworking and sketches of vintage cars.

Most of all James Watt Waldron was a quite gentle man full of kindness and compassion who loved his family.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Samuel and Mabel, nee Johnson, Waldron, four brothers; Kenneth, A.G., Douglas, and Bryant Waldron, and five sisters; Ruby Kirklin, Mildred Townes, Wilma Williams, Martha Hays, and Christine Waldron.

Surviving is his wife of 61 years, Dartha Waldron, nee Polk, three children; Jeanette (Shawn) Dunsworth, Reda Waldron, and Byron Waldron, three grandchildren; Spring Brewer, Dwayne Bateman, and Hailey Dunsworth, four brothers; Loyd, Franklin, Melvin, and Cecil Waldron, two sisters; Ernestine Jones, and Adrianna Pitts, as well as many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Funeral: Funeral services will be held at 2 pm, Thursday, January 3, 2012 at Lake View Funeral Home, Fairview Heights, Illinois. Interment will be in Lake View Memorial Gardens, Fairview Heights, Illinois.
