James E. Woods

Mr. Woods was a United States Navy Veteran who served in WWII. He retired after 40 years of service from the Hunter Packing Company, East St. Louis, Ill., a member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church, Fairview Hgts, Ill., and was an avid bowler.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Ornan & Mary Olive, nee Lawson, Woods; and two brothers, Richard Woods and Walt Woods and brother-in-laws, Henry Dockins and Steve Jurak, Richard Haverman, Robert Haverman, Donnie Haverman and Tom McCallister.

Surviving are his loving wife of 61 years, Loraine D. Woods, nee Haverman of Fairview Hgts, Ill., two sons, Michael J. (Deborah) Woods of Imperial, Mo., and Mark E (Rachel) Woods of Nashville, Ill., 7 grandchildren, Valerie Woodbury (Chris Lanxon), Kathryn (Jarrod) Huskey, Michael (Alicia) Woods, Kevin Woods, Victoria (Donnie) Fitzgerald, Meghan Woods and Virginia Woods; 3 step-grandchildren, Jack, Alexandria and Tyler Brooks; 12 Great-Grandchildren, Tayler, Tyson, Trey and Chandler Woodbury, Nellie Lanxon, Skyler Woods, Jordann and Kobe Botkin, Jacob Huskey, Abigail and Emma Fitzgerald and Karrigan Woods; and 2 sisters, Clara Dockins of Millstadt, Ill., and Mary B. Jurak of Staunton, Ill., Brother-in-Laws, John (Helen) Haverman and Joe (Doris) Haverman, sister-in-laws, Ruth (Larry) Simpson, Lillian (Joe) Steinkoenig, Mary McCallister, Shirley (Ralph) Klein, Lillian Haverman and Judy Haverman.

And many loving nieces, nephews, cousins and friends and numerous extended loving family.

Memorials may be made in the form of a Mass to Holy Trinity Catholic Church or to Heartland Hospice, Fairview Heights, Ill.

Visitation: Friends may call from 4:00-8:00 P.M. on Friday, April 23, 2010 at Lake View Funeral Home, Fairview Heights, Ill., and from 10:30 A.M. – 11:30 A.M. on Saturday, April 24, 2010 at Lake View Funeral Home.

Funeral services will be held at 11:30 A.M. on Saturday, April 24, 2010 at Lake View Funeral Home with Father Ray Schultz officiating. Interment will be held in Lake View Memorial Gardens, Fairview Heights, Ill.
