

Jan was born on December 5, 1952, to Robert “Bob” and Ethel “Eddie” Hoffman in St. Louis, MO.
All those who met and knew Jan, know that Christ was at the center of her life. She nurtured that love in all of her family and friends. Jan was an obstetrics nurse at Anderson Hospital for many years, retiring in 2024. She will be remembered for her kind and gentle manner with a fierce love for her family and friends. Jan met Ron at Black River Lodge in Lesterville, MO, and they continued to vacation there every summer for the last 38 years. When she wasn’t laying out at the pool or attending musicals with her husband, Ron, at the MUNY; she could be found rooting on her St. Louis Cardinals. Her children and grandchildren meant the world to her and she rarely missed a grandchild’s sporting event or practice.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her first husband, Timothy Carlson; and her granddaughter, Hadley Carlson.
Jan is survived by her loving husband of 37 years, Ron Brueggeman; her children, Corby (Kristin) Carlson, April (Eric) Newell, Sarah McKenzie, Bethany (Kyle) Coffin, Brett (Kasey) Carlson, and Rachel (Jon) Myers; her grandchildren, Gabby, Julia, Braylen, Tucker, Addie, Brody, Jill, Kincaid, Colton, Mason, JJ, Paige, Grady, Quinn, Josie, August, Whitley, Dorothy, and Cal; her sister, Kim Eernisse; her niece, Lexi (Alex) Wilcox; and a host of extended family members, friends, and brothers and sisters in Christ.
A funeral service will be held at 6:00 P.M. on Tuesday, March 31, 2026, at Heights Community Church, 231 S Bluff Rd., Collinsville, IL 62234.
Visitation will be prior the the service, from 3:00 P.M, to 6 P.M. at the church on Tuesday, March 31.
Jan will be laid to rest with a private inurnment of ashes at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery in St Louis, MO, as Jan honorably served as a nurse in the Untied States Army.
Memorial donations in Jan's name may be made to Heights Community Church- Kids Ministry.
