Jerry Fred Mohr Sr

Mr. Mohr retired in 2005 from Belleville Area College/Southwestern Illinois College after 25 years of service, first as Assistant Supervisor of Buildings and Grounds for one year at the Belleville Campus, after which he was promoted to Physical Plant Supervisor of the Granite City Campus. Prior to his college position, he owned and operated "Cream Delight" restaurant and ice cream shop along with his wife, Joyce. When the business was sold, Jerry enjoyed working as Building and Grounds Supervisor at "St. John's Children Home" in Belleville . He attended St. Agatha’s Catholic Church, New Athens, Ill., was a 3rd Degree Knights of Columbus, Council 3789, New Athens, Ill. Jerry graduated from Mascoutah Community High School.

Jerry enjoyed bowling, fishing, car racing, golfing, Cardinal games, the Muny, traveling and listening to music. He loved going to his children's and grandchildrens' sporting events.

He will be remembered for his love and special times shared with his family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Joyce A. Mohr; an infant granddaughter, Christina Mohr; parents, John & Arleen, nee Dietz, Mohr, and a son-in-law, Ben Wright.

Surviving are his loving and faithful companion for many years, Sharron Owca of Collinsville, Ill., his six children, Jerry F. Mohr Jr., of Lenzburg, Ill., Juanita Mohr-Wright of Freeburg, Ill., Jeanine Shoemaker of Mascoutah, Ill., Jeffrey (Lisa) Mohr of Smithton, Ill., Julie (Eliseo) Segovia of Wisconsin Rapids, WI., and Jonathan (Patricia) Mohr of Smithton, Ill., 8 grandchildren, Ginny Schobert of Mascoutah, Ill., Zachary Schobert of Smithton, Ill., Joshua Segovia of Wisconsin Rapids, WI., Steven Mohr of Smithton, Ill., Benjamin Schobert of Mascoutah, Ill., Jasmin Segovia of Nekoosa, WI., Dennis Schobert of Lebanon, Ill., and Sarah Mohr of Smithton, Ill., 3 step-grandchildren, Brandy, William and Curtis Thompson; Special and Dear Friends, Sherrie (John) Ferguson of Collinsville, Ill., Terri (Scott) Greathouse of Edwardsville, Ill., Eric & Alex Ferguson, Shane & Danielle Greathouse.

Visitation: Friends may call from 4:00 P.M. – 7:00 P.M. on Thursday, April 28, 2011 at Lake View Funeral Home, Fairview Heights, Ill.

Funeral services will be held at 7:00 P.M. on Thursday, April 28, 2011 at Lake View Funeral Home with Father Jim Nall officiating.

Graveside services will include the Interment of cremains of Jerry F. & Joyce Mohr Sr., at 11:00 A.M. on Saturday, April 30, 2011 at Lake View Memorial Gardens, Fairview Heights, Ill.
