

Joe proudly served his country in the United States Navy during the Korean Conflict. He was a mechanic and member of Labor Local 100 for over 40 years. He enjoyed playing cards, horseshoes and corkball with his friends. His favorite pastimes were gardening, fishing, and traveling, but his favorite moments were those spent with his family. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Miles and Ada Venus, nee Morningstar, Waterman; his loving wife, Dorothy "Dottie", nee Dover, Waterman; four brothers, Earl Waterman, Miles (Mary) Waterman, Earnie Waterman, and Louie (Edith) Waterman; five sisters, Estelle (Rusty) Davenport, Martha (Red) Callis, Anna Mae (Glenn) Wright, Nellie (Bill) Wright, and Rhea (Wayne) Sanford.
Surviving is his son, Michael J. Waterman; one granddaughter, Amanda Stafford; and one great-grandson, Logan Stafford; and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends who loved him very much.
Donations in Joe's memory may be made to American Heart Association or St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.

Friends may call from 4-7 p.m., Thursday, January 7th, 2016 at Lake View Funeral Home, Fairview Heights, Illinois. Funeral services to be held Friday, January 8th, 2016 at 10:00 a.m. in the funeral home chapel. Interment in Lake View Memorial Gardens, Fairview Heights, Illinois.
