

John was a member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church. He was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed hunting and fishing. He was a member of Ducks Unlimited and the American Legion. He loved baseball and one of his fondest memories was the Belleville Township High School’s 1954 state baseball championship.
John was an Army veteran and worked his entire career at Granite City Steel.
John is preceded in death by his parents John and Helen (nee Popp) Schutzenhofer; brother, Kenneth Schutzenhofer; and brothers-in-law Leo Dorman and Ron Feher.
Those left to cherish his memory include his loving wife of 60 years, Quermina (nee Gonzales) Schutzenhofer; children, Cynthia (Ronald) Frein; Theresa Morgan Schutzenhofer (Joseph Carroll); Anita (Robert) Serdorcek; Lori Schutzenhofer (Kathy Bootle); Lawrence Schutzenhofer; Angela (Gary) Kessinger; Eric (Amy) Schutzenhofer; Monica Schutzenhofer (Dukes); grandchildren, Jessica (Chris); Michael (Lorie); Andrea (Cory); Rachel; Joshua (Corrie); Ashley; Austin (Rachel); Perry; John Foster (Bailey); James; John Eric; Amanda; 12 great-grandchildren; sister, Helen Marie Feher; in-laws Joe (Mary) Gonzales; Marcy (Bruce) Miller; Yolanda Dorman; Olga (Bill) Ingeneri; a special dog, Bisbee; as well as many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
Services: Friends may gather with the family Tuesday, October 30, 2018 from 4 until 8 pm at Lake View Funeral Home.
Funeral: A prayer service will be conducted 11:00 am Wednesday, October 31, 2018 at Lake View Funeral Home. John will be laid to rest in a private service at a later date at Lake View Memorial Gardens.
