Judy Lehr

Judy Lehr, 80, of O’Fallon, passed away Monday, December 25, 2023. She was born June 12, 1943 in Belleville, to Elmer and Dorothy (Palmer) Lehr. Judy was a dedicated teacher at High Mount School in Swansea, Illinois. She taught 4th and 5th grade for 37 years and retired in 2005. She was a member of Alpha Delta Kappa teacher’s sorority where she assisted in their scholarship program. Judy also volunteered at the O’Fallon Public Library. She was an avid St. Louis Cardinals fan and enjoyed playing bingo. Judy loved animals and enjoyed feeding the birds and squirrels. She recently joined New Life Club at St. Matthew Church. Judy will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her.

Survivors left to cherish her memory include her brothers, Dwight (Allene) Lehr and Gary (Faith) Lehr; nieces Jenny (Matthew) Wagner, Kim Travelstead and Laura (Chris) Miller; nephews, Mark (Barb) Lehr and Steve (Brenda) Lehr; numerous great nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; nephew, Rick Travelstead; great-nephew, Craig Lehr and great-niece, Lisa Lehr.

A private family graveside will be held. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the O’Fallon Public Library or the Belleville Area Humane Society.
