Karen was the wife of Dale Thompson, who preceded her in death. She is survived by sisters Patricia Skidis of Cahokia and Melinda Schwartz of Dupo; a niece Meagan Schwartz of Dupo and nephew Michael Schwartz of Columbia; an Aunt Barb and Uncle Hart Collins, an Aunt Clylene Moore; dear cousin Vicki Nelson and dear friends Neva and Buddy Gillan, Eric Gillan, Gloria Glover, Betty Atkinson, Sandra Groves and Nathan Abernathy.
Karen was preceded in death by her parents Bennie and Betty Kolwyck; a sister Jacklyn Kolwyck.
Karen was retired from Gillan Graphics where she worked for 20 years.
The family would like to extend their gratitude to the employees of Mercy South, Integrity Health Care, and Ed; who always put a smile on Karen's face.
A memorial visitation will be held from 10 am – 12 pm. Saturday, August 17, at Lake View Funeral Home, 5000 N. Illinois St., Fairview Heights. A memorial service will take place at 12 pm.
