She then met Lamar Moore at church and they began their life together.
They were married on March 18, 1950; together they shared 61 years of marriage. He preceded her in death on July 4, 2011.

Kate has always enjoyed gardening and canning the fruits of her labor. She was always sharing with others and they were enjoyed by all. She loved tending to her beautiful flower gardens. She enjoyed crocheting and has made many gifts over the years for her family. She was also a talented seamstress, making draperies for her home and made her daughter, Jan many beautiful dresses, including prom dresses, over the years.
Kate loved children and was a kindergarten Sunday School teacher at the Church of the Nazarene in Collinsville for many years.
Kate and Lamar were hard workers who worked side-by-side developing their successful business, Lamar Moore Construction. They loved one another and their wonderful family. She cherished the time she was able to spend with them. We were blessed to be their children. She will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her.
Memorial donations are appreciated to the Alzheimer’s Association or to VITAS Hospice, for their loving care shown to Kate.
