Kenneth Albert Rettinghouse, 75, of Fairview Heights, passed away Friday, January 13, 2023. He was born October 12, 1947 to Albert and Dorothy (McCuen) Rettinghouse. Kenneth worked for Alton and Southern Railway Co for many years. He was also a member of the Elks Lodge #664 and the Smithton Hunting and Fishing Club. Kenneth spent many happy hours in nature hunting and fishing. He also enjoyed going to auctions and bowling. Kenneth was special to all who knew and loved him and will be dearly missed.
Survivors include his loving wife of 55 years, Nancy Rettinghouse; sister, Sandy Purdy; sister-in-law, Joyce (Ray Eugea) Stookey; nephew, Brandon (Stephanie) Stookey; daughter-in-law, Tonja Rettinghouse; step-grandchildren, Stephanie and Tina and two step-great-grandchildren. Kenneth is preceded in death by his parents and son, Kirk Rettinghouse.
Memorial donations may be made to the family, checks payable to Nancy Rettinghouse.
A memorial visitation will be held on Friday, January 27, 2023 from 10:00 A.M.- 12:00 P.M. at Lake View Funeral Home, Fairview Heights, IL.
A memorial service will be held immediately following the visitation, at 12:00 P.M. at the funeral home. Pastor Jeff Downard will officiate. Final interment will be held at Lake View Memorial Gardens.
