Larry O. Wewer

Larry was born May 15, 1942 in Scott City, KS to Joseph Andrew and Mary Agnes (Kissinger) Wewer. He married Dorothy Gleue on May 26, 1962 in Garden City, KS. Together they shared 60 wonderful years of marriage. She survives and resides in O’Fallon, IL.

Also surviving are his children, Valerie S. Cramer of Garden City, KS, Joseph A. (Terri) Wewer of Normal, IL, and Melody R. (Dave) Dock of O’Fallon, IL; grandchildren, Katie A. Cramer, Jessica C. Wewer, Joshua A. Wewer, Kayelyn R. Wewer, Benjamin Dock and Hannah Dock; one great-grandson, Jaxon; and one sister, Donna Gaschler of Modoc, KS.

Larry was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph A. and Mary A. Wewer; one son, Larry A. Wewer; one sister and two brothers.

For many years, Larry spent his working career as a technician with MJB Heating & Cooling in Derby, Kansas.

Larry enjoyed collecting, building and flying Radio Control Airplanes for many years. He was involved in show team clubs, including Air Capital Eagles Show Team and Wichita Radio Control Club (WRCC), both in Kansas. His collection brought him years of joy and connected him with lifelong friends. He also enjoyed Radio Control Racecars, a pastime he shared with his sons, Joe and Larry.

Larry loved his family dearly and the times they shared together. He was always teasing and joking with his beloved grandchildren, friends and family. His loss leaves a painful void but his memory will be cherished forever.

The family has entrusted Lake View Funeral Home, Fairview Heights, IL with cremation services.
