Leo "Lee" A. Jerome

Lee proudly served his country in the United States Navy as a purser. A graduate of St. Louis University, Lee went on to be an accountant for more than 50 years and owned his own firm, L.A. Jerome Inc., Tax Preparation & Consulting, in Swansea, Illinois. He loved animals, gardening, swimming, decorating for holidays, especially dressing up for Halloween, and spending time with his family and friends. Lee truly enjoyed his work as an accountant and was grateful to have many of his clients be his friend as well. He will always be remembered as a trustworthy, humble, and generous mentor and friend whom will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Oscar and Catherine, nee Houlihan, Jerome; his wife, Elsie Mae, nee Wolf, Jerome; one son, Leo "Jay" Jerome; and one sister, Jeanne McFarland.

Surviving and missed by his daughter, Kelly (Clif) Wilkerson; his granddaughter, Olivia Wilkerson; his many godchildren; numerous nieces, nephews, and friends.

Friends may call from 9-12 p.m., Wednesday, July 27, 2016 at Lake View Funeral Home, Fairview Heights, Illinois. Memorial services to follow at 12 noon in the funeral home chapel. Inurnment in Lake View Memorial Gardens, Fairview Heights, Illinois at a later date.
