Lillian M. Tangel-Elias

Lillian M. Tangel-Elias, nee Goheen, 96, of Glen Carbon, Illinois, born July 10, 1917, in Newark, New Jersey, she went to be with the Lord on July 2, 2014, at Meridian Village in Glen Carbon, Illinois.

Lillian graduated from Hillside High School in Hillside, New Jersey. She worked for Prudential Insurance Company of Newark, New Jersey. She married Julius E. Tangel on April 17, 1943 and they lived in Hillside, New Jersey; Allentown, Pennsylvania; Jacksonville, Florida; Concordia, California; and eventually retired to Vero Beach, Florida in 1979. At age 85, Lillian married Cloyd L. Elias, on May 11, 2002. She was a member of First Presbyterian Church in Vero Beach, Florida, Vero Beach Country Club, and the Hillside Historical Society.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Harry E. and Lillian F., nee McGregor, Goheen; her first and second husbands; and a sister, Isabelle Cowell.

Surviving are her two daughters, Judith (George) Sims, of Alachua, Florida and Donna (Joe) Krieger, of Collinsville, Illinois; and a step daughter, Gail Elias, of Lafayette, Colorado; four grandchildren, Kimberly Sims, Bethany Peterson, Jessica Ambuehl, and Scott Krieger; and four great grandchildren, Brandon and Amanda Sims, Camden and Gavin Ambuehl.

Funeral: A memorial service will be held 11 a.m., Saturday, July 5, 2014 at Meridian Village in the chapel, at 27 Auerbach Pl., Glen Carbon, Illinois, officiated by Rev. Brad Thomas. Entombment will be held privately in Lake View Memorial Gardens, Fairview Heights, Illinois.
