Lois was the daughter of Adolf and Marie Ulkus. The family moved to Collinsville, Illinois when Lois was just one year old. Her father was the pastor at Jeruselem Lutheran Church in Collinsville. In 1951 Lois married the love of her life, Louis Viliocco and to their union brought four children. Lois was a long time member of Holy Cross Lutheran Church. She spent most of her life in the Collinsville area. She worked as an operator for The Woodworkers in Collinsville where she refinished furniture.
In 1991 she was diagnosed with lung cancer and fought immensely for over 25 years. During her own fight with cancer Lois remained devoted to helping others. She helped both friends and strangers who were battling cancer. She volunteered at her church and also at the Collinsville Ministerial Alliance for many years. She enjoyed buying and selling antiques and collectibles at various antique malls, flea markets and auctions. Lois kept active with her friends and family, as she attended as many of her grandchildren’s events as she possibly could. She was a loving mom, grandma, great grandma and sister. She will truly be missed by all who knew and loved her.
She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 64 years; Louis “Sonny” Anton Viliocoo; both parents, Adolf and Marie (nee Woitowitz) Ulkus; and her brothers, William and Theodore Ulkus.
Surviving to cherish her are her loving children; Thomas (Patty) Viliocco, Barbara (Tim) Weaver, Sandra (Mark) Guempel and Robert Viliocco; her grandchildren, Alison, Andrea, Sean, Tony, Christian, Kathryn, Elizabeth, Leigh Ann, Ben, Amanda, Sarah, Robert and Samantha; great grandchildren, Cole, Benjamin, Tyler, Caroline, Joshua, Trenton, Hannah, Lydia, Jude and Lily; one brother, Harold (Doris) Ulkus and a dear number of nieces, nephews, family members and friends.
