

Loretta Rose Ellison, nee Cady, 90 of Glen Carbon IL, formerly of Port Charlotte, Florida, Catawissa, Missouri and East St. Louis, Illinois, born on April 11, 1926 in St. Louis, Missouri, died on Saturday, September 17, 2016 at her daughter’s home in Swansea, Illinois while surrounded by her loving family.
Mrs. Ellison retired from Venture Stores in 1988. Loretta was a member of St. Boniface Catholic Church in Edwardsville, Illinois and formerly of St. Phillip Catholic Church in East St. Louis, Illinois where she spent many hours coaching, and nurturing children to the right path.
Loretta was preceded in death by her parents Frank and Margaret (nee Hutchinson) Cady; son-in-law, Gary McNelly, Sr.; sister Margaret Cady Cavato, and brothers-in-law, Joe Cavato, Jim Barsaloux, Jr. and Edward Ellison. Loretta has joined the love of her life, Jim Ellison, whom she married on November 28, 1946, and they lived and enjoyed life together for 65 years.
Loretta will be dearly missed by her devoted and loving children, Jim Ellison, Jr., Barb (Nick) Kokotovich, Kathy (Tom) Gillum, Steve (Sandy) Ellison and Peggy McNelly; a daughter-in-law Lynn Ellison; fifteen grandchildren, Nick (Kellie) Kokotovich, Jr., Jamie (Brian Kapp) Ellison, Bob (Bekki) Kokotovich, Jim (Teresa) Ellison, Kelly (Jason) Evers, Julie Ellison, Stephanie (David Hsia) Ellison, Tim (Tammy) Gillum, Sarah (Matt) Johnson, Jeff (Elisha) Gillum, Samantha (Kartik) Tripathy, Gary (Lyndi) McNelly, Scott (Lauren) Ellison, Sean (Cassie) Ellison, and Zach (Kate) McNelly; twenty great-grandchildren, Haley, Brianne , Amanda, Madison, Kayla, Ben, Cady, Loren, Justin, Tyler, Drew, Brooke, Sydney, Cooper, Cecilia, Oliver, Siddharth, Maggie, Garrison and James Fitz; dear sister, Rosemarie Barsaloux; sister-in-law, Dorothy Ellison, and many nieces, nephews and cousins. She will be deeply missed by so many people, her children, grandchildren and great children and all that were impacted by her life.

Friends may call from 4-8 p.m. on Wednesday, September 21, 2016 at Lake View Funeral Home, Fairview Heights, Illinois. Visitation at St. Boniface Catholic Church, Edwardsville, Illinois, will be from 10-11 a.m., Thursday, September 22, 2016. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 11:00 a.m. at the church with Rev. Jefrey Goeckner, VF officiating. Interment will follow in Lake View Memorial Gardens, Fairview Heights, Illinois.
