Margaret Helen McGinnis, 73, of Belleville, passed away Tuesday, March 1, 2022. She was born on July 26, 1948 to Richard and Eleanor (Bishop) Gentsch. Margaret married Kenneth McGinnis July 7, 1967. She was a talented seamstress and sewed many wedding dresses over the years. She also had a passion for quilting and was a member of a local quilting group, as well as a member of Southside Improvement Association. Margaret especially enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren. She will be missed by all who knew and loved her.
Survivors include her son, Dean A. (Lisa) McGinnis; grandchildren, Katherine, Michael (Tabatha) and Joshua McGinnis; brother, Michael Gentsch; sister, Paula Herbstreith and numerous cousins, nieces, nephews and other extended family. Predeceased by her parents and husband, Kenneth McGinnis.
Funeral service will be held Monday, March 7, 2022 at 12:00 p.m. in Lake View Funeral Home, 5000 N. Illinois St., Fairview Heights, IL 62208 with visitation from 11:00 a.m. until time of service. Interment in Lake View Memorial Gardens. Memorial contributions can be made to the American Heart Association.
