Marsha Lee Kent, 68, of Dexter, Missouri, passed away on May 17, 2026. Born October 3, 1957, to James Sr. and Pauline (nee Hirtz) Marsh, Marsha will be remembered with deep respect and enduring affection by all who were blessed to know her.
Those left to cherish Marsha's memory are her siblings: Patricia (Glen) Lemp, Elizabeth Aitken, Helen (Dusty) Hoffman, James (Melissa) Marsh Jr, half brothers John (Codi) Marsh, Paul Marsh, Andrew (Chasady) Marsh, many nieces and nephews, and her extended family at the Dexter Apostolic Church.
Marsha’s life was marked by steady work, quiet courage, and a generous spirit that found its truest expression in the ways she cared for others. Before becoming a manager, she worked as a truck driver, driving in teams for long hauls—work that reflected both her bravery and her willingness to meet life head-on with determination and good humor. She later became a long-time manager at the TA Truck stop, where her hard work, honesty, and thoughtful leadership earned the trust of those around her, and where she ultimately retired.
Marsha dearly loved her husband, John Motes, with whom she shared years of love and life before his passing. That devotion remained a defining part of her story—faithful, loyal, and deeply cherished.
A phenomenal cook, Marsha found joy in providing for others, often preparing meals for anyone in need and frequently offering food to the church. Her compassion and kind-hearted nature were felt not in grand gestures, but in consistent, gentle acts of service—an everyday generosity that made people feel seen, welcomed, and cared for.
Marsha also carried an adventurous spirit and a readiness to go wherever life might lead. She loved to travel and was always prepared to join a trip, visiting Branson, Georgia, and Florida often. Through these journeys, and through the steady rhythm of her daily life, she remained an inspirational presence—devoted to what mattered, grateful for simple joys, and attentive to the people around her.
A beloved, long-time member of the Dexter Apostolic Church, Marsha’s faith was woven into her life with sincerity and steadiness. She will be remembered as a cherished woman of warmth and conviction, whose life reflected compassion, devotion, and a gentle strength that will not be forgotten.
