Michael George Papachrisanthou

He was born on December 6,1940, in Larissa, Greece to George and Theodora Papachrisanthou.

On July 4, 1965, Michael married the love of his life, Mary Helen. Together, they built a beautiful life and raised three sons.

Mike began his career at National Automotive Supply in 1965. In 1976, driven by hard work and dedication, he opened his own business, Mike’s Automotive – which became a cornerstone of the community and is still to this day.

A proud member of Saints Constantine & Helen Greek Orthodox Church, Michael was devoted to his faith, his family, and his work. His sharp sense of humor, strong work ethic, and generous heart left a lasting impression on all who knew him.

He was preceded in death by his parents, George and Theodora Papachrisanthou and his sister Matina.

Mike is survived by his wife, Mary Helen; his sons: George (Stacy), Peter (Sherry), Angelo (Michelle); his cherished grandchildren: Michael, Matthew, Katarina, Nicholas, Gabi and Isabel; his sisters, Anna and Thespina; and his brother, Elefterios

A visitation will be held on Tuesday, June 10, 2025, from 10:00am – 12:00pm at Saints Constantine & Helen Greek Orthodox Church, 405 Huntwood Road, Swansea, Illinois 62226. The funeral service will begin at 12:00pm with burial at Lake View Memorial Gardens to follow.

In lieu of flowers, the Papachrisanthou family asks that you make memorial donation in Mike’s name to Saints Constantine & Helen Greek Orthodox Church or The Hospice of Southern Illinois.
