

Mildred “Millie” Ione Boyce, 91, of Troy, passed away Saturday, January 7, 2023. She was born October 14, 1931 in Rockford, IL to Joseph and Mary (Satterfield) Reynolds. Millie lived through The Great Depression and WWII. In high school, she played the clarinet and was the first chair in the orchestra. Millie was proud to be the first woman machinist at John S. Barnes Corporation and continued her career as a machinist for many years. She had a passion for cooking, canning and enjoyed crossword puzzles. Millie was a proud wife and mother and loved her family dearly and enjoyed spending time with them, especially her grandchildren. Millie will be remembered for her faith, love and always doing her best. She will be missed by all who knew and loved her.
Millie is survived by her children, Rolanda (Carl) Miller and Jeffery Benson; grandchildren, Josh (Melinda) Miller and Andrew (Amna) Miller; great-grandchildren, Jennifer, Austin, Idris and Raniya Miller and sister, Jayne Peyton. Millie is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Kenneth Boyce and siblings, Mary Jo, Libby, Taylor, Charlene, Russell and Claudette.
Visitation will be held from 10:00am to 12:00pm on Saturday, January 14, 2023 in Lake View Funeral Home, 5000 N. Illinois St., Fairview Heights, IL 62208. Funeral service will be held at 12:00pm on Saturday, January 14, 2023 in the funeral home. Interment to follow in Lake View Memorial Gardens. Memorial contributions can be made to the Alzheimer’s Association or San Gabriel Memory Care. Special thank you to the staff at San Gabriel for their exceptional care and kindness.
