

Nancy received her Bachelor’s Degree in Economics and Business at SIUE. She worked many years as a telephone operator at AT&T and most recently as a librarian at Six Mile Regional Library in Granite City, Illinois. She was member at St. Mary Catholic Church in Belleville, Illinois where she served as a percussionist in the choir. Nancy loved music and also played the bagpipes. She had a deep passion for art, creating beautiful work whether she was painting, making jewelry, ceramics or knitting. Nancy also enjoyed traveling and experienced an unforgettable tour of the UK. She was an animal enthusiast and loved camping, fishing, archery and collecting antiques. You could often find her free spirit cruising around on her Harley. Nancy will be remembered for her infectious laugh, generous heart and kind spirit. She leaves behind a legacy of creativity and passion that will live on in the hearts of all who knew her.
Surviving to cherish her memory includes her special cousin, Cindy (Dwight) Wagner of Swansea, Illinois and their daughters, Mandy (Ryan) Zinke of Maryville, Illinois and their two children, Colleen and Chase Zinke; Elizabeth Kirschner of Belleville, Illinois and Katie (Aaron) Hoffmann of Belleville, IL and their two daughters, Nora Marie and Abby Lee Hoffmann. She was preceded in death by her parents.
Mass of Christian burial will be held on Tuesday, May 28, 2024 at 11:00am at St. Mary Catholic Church, 1706 W. Main St., Belleville, IL 62226 with with Monsignor John Myler officiating. A visitation in the church prior from 10:00am until time of mass. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the Belleville Area Humane Society. Special thank you to the compassionate staff at Freeburg Care Center and Hospice of Southern Illinois for their love and care to Nancy.
