

Nick Kokotovich, 73, of Fairview Heights, IL, recently of Southwest, Florida, passed away suddenly Sunday, March 6, 2022. He was born on April 17, 1948 in East St. Louis, the son of John and Eleanor (Mueth) Kototovich. He graduated from East St. Louis High School. He completed high school on a Friday and begun working at McDonnell Douglas on Monday. He retired from Boeing in 2013 after 47 years. In 1968 Nick married Barbara Ellison at St. Philip Catholic Church in East St. Louis. He completed his Tool and Die Maker Apprenticeship in 1977. Nick was a veteran of the United States Army and served for 4 years with a tour in Germany. Nick was the Athletic Director of St. Albert for a time and enjoyed coaching boys and girls teams and was also a volunteer firefighter in Fairview Heights from 1978 to 2012.
Survivors include his high school love, Barbara (nee Ellison) Kokotovich; sons, Nicholas Jr. (Kellie McCoy) and Robert (Rebecca Wolff); daughter, Kelly (Jason Evers); adored grandchildren, Amanda, Madison, Kayla, Ben, Cady Kokotovich, Loren and Justin Evers; sisters, Barbara (William) Matatall and Jackie Sullivan; special sister and brother-in-laws, James Ellison, Lynn Ellison, Steve (Sandy) Ellison, Kathy (Tom) Gillum and Peggy (Gary, deceased) McNelly; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Monday, March 14, 2022 from 4:00pm to 8:00pm in Lake View Funeral Home, 5000 N. Illinois St., Fairview Heights, IL 62208. Mass of Christian Burial will be held Tuesday, March 15, 2022 at 10:00am in Holy Trinity Catholic Church, 505 Fountains Parkway, Fairview Heights, IL 62208 with Father Clyde Grogan officiating. Visitation will be held from 9:00am until time of mass. Interment to follow in Lake View Memorial Gardens. Memorial contributions can be made to the Illinois Fire Safety Alliance for the Burn Camp.
