

Orena "Renee" Schneider, nee Barttelbort, 94, born on March 31, 1922 in Shiloh Valley Township, Illinois, passed away on Friday, August 19, 2016 at Rosewood Care Center, in Swansea, Illinois with her family by her side.
She was co-owner of Vern Schneider's Market in Shiloh for 26 1/2 years. Renee worked as a chairman of the Mother's March of Dimes for 23 years in Shiloh. She was the first den mother of Cub Scout Pack 40 in Shiloh, past Secretary of Shiloh Improvement Association; past Vice-President of Shiloh Senior Citizens A.A.R.P., and a member of the Saturday Night Poker Club.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Vernon G. Schneider, whom she married November 2, 1941 and passed away March 30, 1991; her parents, Henry and Rose, nee Mueller, Barttelbort; five brothers; three sisters; and two grandchildren, Terry Schneider, Jr., and Keith Allen Croffoot.
Survived and missed by her four children, Terry (Barb) Schneider, of O'Fallon, Illinois; Connie (Tim) Rehg, Sr., of Belleville, Illinois, Lana (Tom) Munie, of Shiloh, Illinois, and Tracy (Keith) Croffoot, of Belleville, Illinois; eight grandchildren, Todd (Theresa) Rehg, Marc (Beth) Rehg, Tim (Michelle) Rehg, Jr., Lynae (Jason) Vahle; Erik (Jessica) Schneider, Tara (Vince) Ojeda, Tina (Scott) Markovich, and Clay Croffoot; eighteen great-grandchildren, Cody Ojeda, Bryce Ojeda, Lainey Ojeda, Alex Ojeda, Kate Ojeda, Jacob Vahle, Jack Vahle, Kierstin Vahle, Garrison Schneider, Alyssa Schneider, Brian Rehg, Jared Rehg, Kylie Rehg, Myah Markovich, Brooke Markovich, Adison Markovich, Olivia Rehg, and Alexis Rehg ; one sister-in-law, Genell Jefferson, of O'Fallon, Illinois; many nieces, nephews and friends, especially her very special friend and roommate at Rosewood Care Center, Marcella "Sally" Alesaski.

Friends may call from 4-7 p.m., on Monday, August 22, 2016 at Lake View Funeral Home, Fairview Heights, Illinois. Funeral services to follow at 7:00 p.m. in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Charles West officiating. Inurnment in Lake View Memorial Gardens, Fairview Heights, Illinois at a later date.
