Patricia Jane Argus

Patricia Jane Argus, 82, of Evansville, Illinois, passed away on June 9, 2025, in Belleville, Illinois. One of (10) children, Patricia was born to Everett and Estella Norman (nee Smith) on February 2, 1943, in East St. Louis, Illinois.

Patricia’s hobbies included porcelain dolls, sewing, reading, and gardening. Her favorite flower was the ‘rose’, of which she once owned (56) roses bushes in her yard. She was an excellent cook and enjoyed making meals for her family (who were her whole world)!

Patricia was an “Angel on earth”, demonstrating gentleness and kindness to everyone she encountered.

Patricia was a believer who loved the Lord. She was affiliated with Calvary Baptist Church in Dupo, Illinois.

Patricia is preceded in death by her parents, Everett and Estella Norman; son: Brian Argus; (4) brothers; and (2) sisters.

Patricia is survived by her loving husband of 65 years, Emmett Argus, Sr.; children: Emmett (Julie) Argus, Jr., Donald (Martha) Argus, and Amanda (Pete) Orella; grandchildren: Lindsay, Brian, Austin, Mike, Julie, Faith, and Ashlyn; great-grandchildren: Kaylee, Everett K., Braxton, Astrid, Everett A., Cooper, Kylie, and Daniel; great-granddaughter, Hazley; sisters: Sharon (Charles) Hooker and Joan Bueler; and brother: Terry Norman; along with many nieces and nephews.

Interment will take place at Lake View Memorial Gardens, 5000 N Illinois Street, Fairview Heights, Illinois.
