Ray Dale Tennant

Ray Dale Tennant, age 87, of Collinsville, Illinois passed away on Sunday, October 27, 2024. Ray was born in Missouri to Albert and Corrine (Toussaint) Tennant. He was one of five children in a loving family.

Ray graduated from Collinsville high school in 1954. On March 23, 1958, Ray married Marian L. Recklein. To that union, four children were born. He later met Marjorie Wolf, and they were married on December 18, 1987.

Ray worked for Foam Products, from which he retired in 1991. He was a carpenter by trade and loved building and remodeling homes. After retiring, Ray bought and rehabbed rental properties. He also owned three race horses and loved going to the races. Ray loved spending time with his family. Not only did he teach his grandchildren carpentry, but he enjoyed teaching them all of the tricks of the trades.

Ray is preceded in death by his parents, Albert Tennant and Corrine Brichler; ex wife, Marian Tennant; Wife Marjorie Tennant; sisters, Dolores (Ed) Highsmith and Sharon (Ron) Wrigley; brothers, Charles (Anne) Tennant, and Jimmie Tennant; daughter-in-law, Barbara Tennant.

He leaves to cherish his memory his four children, Kris Tennant, of Collinsville, IL, Tammy (Bill) Bramley. of Troy, IL, Brad (Debbie) Tennant, of FL, and Kenneth (Linda) Tennant, of WA; four stepchildren, Paul (Christie) Jackson, of CO, Ken (Denise) Jackson, of MO, Bruce Jackson of AZ, and Scott (Michelle) Jackson, of IL; thirteen grandchildren, Shawn (Dana) Tennant, Emma (Oscar) Valasco-Tennant, Jenna (Jonathan Hayes) Tebbenkamp, Dustin (Jordyn) Isenhart, Ross (Marilyn) Tennant, Mistie (John) Smith, Brandon (Nycole) Tennant, David (Lynn Anne) Tennant, Andrew (Paige) Tennant, Brent (Alexandra) Tennant, Tyler (Jordyn) Tennant, Emily Tennant and Hannah Tennant; many great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and friends. He will be deeply missed!

A visitation for Ray will be held Friday, November 1, 2024 from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Lake View Funeral Home, 5000 North Illinois Street, Fairview Heights, IL 62208. A funeral service will take place at 12:00 PM, with a committal service to follow.
