

Mr. May retired as a Master Sergeant after 26 years of dedicated service in the U. S. Air Force. He was also a veteran of the Viet Nam war. Ray attended the public schools in Jackson TN and Lane College, where he became a member of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc. in 1962. During his life, he was the Steward Board Chairman of the Murchison Tabernacle CME Church in St. Louis, as well as a faithful member. Ray gave freely of his time by volunteering at the U.S.O. and the Scott Air Force Base pharmacy. Mr. May will long be remembered as the “world’s largest St. Louis Cardinal’s fan”! He loved to golf, the YMCA, traveling, but most of all his grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, James and Rosie Bell, nee Turley, May.
Mr. May is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 53 years, Blenda, nee Kendrick, May; a son, Raymond D. May, Jr. of Los Angeles, CA; a daughter, Dana (Steve) Stephens of Highlands Ranch, CO; 3 grandchildren, Earl Stephens, Ella Stephens, and Elise Stephens; 3 brothers, James Lee (Melzeta) May, Gregory (Paula) May, and John (Cynthia) May; as well as numerous family members and friends.

Funeral: Services will be held at 11:00 am on Friday, June 9, 2017 at the Murchison Tabernacle CME Church with Bishop Sylvester Williams officiating. Interment will follow in Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery, St. Louis, MO
