Ricardo "Richard" Fuentes

Richard was born October 19, 1929 in Fairmont City, IL to Guadalupe and Josephina (Lugo) Fuentes. He married Myrna Joyce Fuentes and they spent 61 years together before her passing on February 21, 2019. He was also preceded in death by his parents, one infant son, Anthony Scott Fuentes, two brothers and six sisters.

Richard proudly served his country in the United States Air Force, during the Korean War. He worked as a craneman, retiring after 40 years with Granite City Steel. He enjoyed watching TV, Mexican music and being outdoors. He will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him.

Those left to cherish his memory are his sons, Steven (Sharee) Mancinas, Ricardo (Patty) Fuentes and daughter, Michelle (Thomas Crebbs) Brockman; 9 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren; 4 great-great-grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews and extended family.

Memorial donations may be made to Fairmont City Christian Activity Center. Additional condolences may be sent to the family through this online guestbook.

Cremation rites have been accorded. The family has entrusted Lake View Funeral Home with arrangements. Richard will be laid to rest at Lake View Memorial Gardens after a private ceremony at a later date.
